  • Swans, those most delicate of snow-white birds, mate for life. This pair shows their enduring love with an embrace and heart-shaped necks. Their passion is such that they are oblivious to their two chicks underfoot! A frog can be seen on the interior, since he has nowhere to sit on the exterior of the box. Beside him is a sign that reads “Where’s Huck & Andre?” During the carving process, the BBC was tracking two migratory swans, named Huc and Andrei, from Siberia to their wintering grounds in Britain. Peter admits the names are spelled wrong because he got them from listening to the radio. The “M” under one webbed foot stands for Peter and Andrea Calvesbert’s daughter Millie and the “S” stands for their son Sam.

  • NOTE: Because Harmony Kingdom is handmade, individual box figurines may exhibit slight variations. While the artisans do their best to ensure that Harmony Kingdom boxes look seamless, many pieces do look like two-piece figurines.
  • Harmony Kingdom’s artists often conceal a small motif on the box figurines they carve as a sort of “signature.” This identifies the piece as being their work and adds to the Secrets of the Kingdom. David Lawrence uses an acorn on most of his box figurines, and Peter Calvesbert uses a mouse. Many collectors enjoy searching for these small, hidden symbols of the artists.
