- This is the third crab box figurine which features a clever crustacean coaxing a timid minnow from its coral reef hideaway. The crab almost has his prey, using a slice of bread as bait. On this same baited claw our crustacean friend sports a wristwatch. The mouse hides amid the coral on the back of the piece, near a minnow. The words “Brean Sands” are inscribed on the back of the crab’s shell, referring to the name of a beach in England where Peter and his family vacationed over twenty years ago. Initially, “Brean Sands” was designed to have an empty interior, though few were actually produced this way. One hundred pieces depict a hand inside, and the remaining pieces have a treasure chest within. In September 1996 a few hundred pieces were produced in white, some of which went to the U.S. but were mostly sold in the U.K. Hallmarks include diamond, clock face with month 2, HBC logo, and Pc.

- NOTE: Because Harmony Kingdom is handmade, individual box figurines may exhibit slight variations. While the artisans do their best to ensure that Harmony Kingdom boxes look seamless, many pieces do look like two-piece figurines.
- Harmony Kingdom’s artists often conceal a small motif on the box figurines they carve as a sort of “signature.” This identifies the piece as being their work and adds to the Secrets of the Kingdom. David Lawrence uses an acorn on most of his box figurines, and Peter Calvesbert uses a mouse. Many collectors enjoy searching for these small, hidden symbols of the artists.
