• The characters of Woodsong were inspired by nature, classic design, and unique family situations. Both Terry and Diane have experience with adoption - Diane and her husband adopted 2 Korean children, and Terry’s father was adopted. The Woodsong characters reflect their experiences with not-so traditional families and with different races living in harmony. "We wanted people to look beyond the surface, past appearances and into the hearts of the characters," say Terry and Diane. "After all, this is where differences, pre-conceived notions and judgments disappear, and real love is found."
  
• The Woodsong characters are: Blackberry (bear), Clover (possum). They adopted Wild Rose (grey rabbit), Thistle, (brown rabbit), Leaf (squirrel), Lichen (chipmunk), Daisy, (baby rabbit) and Lily (mouse). Jonquil (skunk) is married to Thorn (badger). Willow (Fox) is with Spruce (raccoon).
