• Master Carver Peter Calvesbert’s “Heavyweight Champion” is a sculptural oxymoron. What could be more different that a delicate shell and a ponderous pachyderm. After Peter carved “Neighborhood Watch III”, which depicted numerous species emerging from shells, he wanted to see what a single large creature would look like. He has had a beautiful shell in his shed for years and often wondered what animal would have made it its home. Well, now it has an elephant living in it!
