  • This year we find Santa trying to cram some very uncooperative kittens into his sack. He has yet to notice that as quickly as he is putting them into the bag, they are escaping from a hole in the bottom. The theme for the 2007 annual Santa came from Lynn Trace and Ellen Schnaible whose names can be found on the lid. The box the kittens are in says “TESCO”, the largest supermarket chain in the UK. This annual edition has two of Peter’s signature mice instead of just one. Notice the industrious mouse in Santa’s pocket, trying to sell fake ID cards to the kittens so they can escape the fate of Santa’s sack. The name “Daisy” is written between Santa’s feet, in memory of Peter’s mother’s cat. Three more kittens can be found hiding in the interior.

  • NOTE: Because Harmony Kingdom is handmade, individual box figurines may exhibit slight variations. While the artisans do their best to ensure that Harmony Kingdom boxes look seamless, many pieces do look like two-piece figurines.

  • Harmony Kingdom’s artists often conceal a small motif on the box figurines they carve as a sort of “signature.” This identifies the piece as being their work and adds to the Secrets of the Kingdom. David Lawrence uses an acorn on most of his box figurines, and Peter Calvesbert uses a mouse. Many collectors enjoy searching for these small, hidden symbols of the artists.
